An attempt at finding a visual dimension for the aesthetic of the research project, understanding how the areas of my research link to one another an uncovering interesting routes to explore further.

- Visualisation - Using digital media as a means of visualisation? – an exciting and engaging way to interact with the research and illustrate its practical applications
- Associations with the Digital Realm, Imaginaries, the 2nd White cube (and Hauntology?)
- Hauntology’s dialogue with ‘The Uncanny’
Research question:
- In what ways can sound art challenge the white cube aesthetic?
- Contextual Review Structure:
- Define Practice medium – Qualify validity
- Define White Cube
- Define context of critique
- Define the medium of time
- Define History of medium – sound in art
Research methods I need to use:
- Exploring a historical and theoretical dialogue around the semiotics of terminology and classification of different genres; the critiques of the white cube aesthetic; the impact that sound has on the contemporary art space and how the digital realm combats the imaginary of the white cube.
- Find ways to sculpt sound in space, allowing the sound to have a more direct and focussed dialogue with place and person. (Introduces digital ideas of space-sound into reality, also invites digital technologies into the dialogue)
Ethics:
- Ecology – effect of digital technologies and progressive attitudes towards nature
- Test effect of ultrasound on human ears and research prolonged use.
